Protesters held demonstrations in support of innocent Palestinians across Asia, Europe and Africa on Friday.

The protests began from the Far East with Japanese people marching on the Israeli embassy in the capital Tokyo.

Thai protesters also staged a demonstration calling on Tel Aviv to end its assault on the blockaded enclave.

Demonstrators across Islamic and Middle Eastern countries, including Iran, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Yemen, Algeria, and Sudan, also censured Israel’s massive offensive against Gaza.

Similar protests were staged in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Kyrgyzstan. In the Indian capital New Delhi, the demonstrators burned the Israeli flags and blamed the United States for the bloodshed.

In Europe, demonstrators staged pro-Palestinian protests in Berlin, Brussels, and Macedonia.

In 1979, the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Grand Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, designated the last Friday of the lunar month of Ramadan as the International Quds Day and advised Muslims across the world to commemorate the day by holding demonstrations and marches to express solidarity with the people of Palestine and their liberation struggle.

This year’s Quds Day came at a time Israel was engaged in brutal massacre of hundreds of Palestinians, including women and children, in Gaza.

Israeli warplanes have been carrying out incessant airstrikes against the blockaded Gaza Strip since July 8. On July 17, thousands of Israeli soldiers launched a ground invasion into the densely-populated strip.

So far, nearly 880 people have been killed and thousands of others injured by the Israeli regime’s offensive against the coastal sliver despite pressure from the international community.

The Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, has been launching retaliatory attacks against Israel.
